      His Excellency Mr. Benjamin William Mkapa, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and Mrs. Mkapa, accompanied by a suite, will pay an Official Working Visit to Japan from December 13 to 17, 1998.
      During their stay in Japan, the President and Mrs. Mkapa will make a State Call on Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.
      Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress will host a Court Luncheon in honor of the President and Mrs. Mkapa.
      The President will hold official talks with the Prime Minister of Japan.
      The Prime Minister and Mrs. Obuchi will host a Dinner in honor of the President and Mrs. Mkapa.
      The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Mrs. Mkapa, which will further strengthen the friendly relations existing between Japan and the United Republic of Tanzania.
