Visit to Japan of Mr. Luiz Felipe Palmeira Lampreia, Minister of External Relations of the Federative Republic of Brazil

1. Mr. Luiz Felipe Palmeira Lampreia, Minister of External Relations of the Federative Republic of Brazil, accompanied by a suite, will visit Japan from November 25 (Wed.) to 29 (Sun.), 1998.

2. During his stay in Japan, Mr. Lampreia will have talks with government officials including Foreign Minister Masahiko Koumura, representatives of private economic organizations and others.

3. This will be Mr. Lampreia's fourth visit to Japan after an interval of two years and eight months. (His first visit was in 1976 to accompany the then President Geisel; the second, in May 1995 as a Guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the third, in March 1996 to accompany President Cardoso). It is expected that the forthcoming visit will further promote the friendly relations between Japan and Brazil.
