Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Terrorist Bombing in Burgas Airport in Bulgaria

- A terrorist bombing took place on Wednesday, July 18 (local time) in the airport in Burgas City, a city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, and killed at least seven persons while injuring 32 (according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria). The Government of Japan is deeply shocked and angered by the terrorist bombing, and also expresses its deepest condolences to the victims of the attacks and their bereaved families.
- Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan expresses its firm condemnation of these atrocious acts of terrorism that indiscriminately victimize many innocent people.
