- On Sunday, May 13, Mr. Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan (joined by Mr. Yukio Edano, Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry), Mr. Bark Tae Ho, Minister for Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea and Mr. Chen Deming, Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, signed the Agreement among the Government of Japan, the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the People's Republic of China for the Promotion, Facilitation and Protection of Investment.
- This agreement forms the first legal framework among Japan, the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea in the field of economy. This agreement also realizes a better investment environment through the development of higher rules and commitments based on the existing bilateral investment agreements.
