Acceptance of Emergency Relief Supplies from China (Third Dispatch)

- In response to the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake, the third dispatch of relief supplies offered from the Government of China is scheduled to arrive in the afternoon on Thursday, March 31 (*1).
- The third dispatch of relief supplies which consists of 10,000 pairs of rubber gloves, 60 portable toilets, and 25,000 pairs of sneakers will be sent to Miyagi Prefecture after arriving at Narita Airport. This assistance forms a part of the total assistance of 30 million RMB which the Government of China has expressed. This assistance follows the first dispatch which had arrived on Monday, March 14 and the second dispatch which had arrived on Monday, March 28 (*2).
- The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation of the Government of China.
(*1) The chartered flight carrying the relief supplies is scheduled to arrive at Narita Airport at 15:30 Thursday, March 31.
(*2) The first dispatch of relief supplies (900 tents, 2,000 blankets, 200 emergency hand lamps) arrived on March 14 at Haneda Airport and was sent to Tome city of Miyagi Prefecture the next day. The second dispatch of relief supplies (60,000 bottles of mineral water, 3,250,000 pairs of disposable rubber gloves) arrived on the 28th and among the supplies, mineral water was sent to Ibaraki Prefecture and disposable rubber gloves were sent to Japanese Red Cross Society.
