Meeting between Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Ikuo Yamahana and Mexican Ambassador Ruiz-Cabañas(Relief supplies for the victims of the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake)

- On March 29, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., Mr. Ikuo Yamahana, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Miguel Ruiz-Cabañas Izquierdo, Ambassador of Mexico to Japan.
- Ambassador Ruiz-Cabañas expressed his sympathy for the victims of the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake and stated that the whole Mexican people expressed deep condolences, adding that Mexico is prepared to offer any necessary assistance. He handed a list of relief supplies to Mr. Yamahana, including preserved food (8.4 tons), sanitary goods (3.4 tons) and bottled water (6.8 tons).
- Mr. Yamahana stated that quick and generous assistance from Mexico reflects a long history of friendship and exchange between the two countries. He also expressed his deep gratitude for those various encouraging assistance that President Felipe Carderón Hinojosa and Secretary for Foreign Affairs Patricia Espinoza Cantellano offered with words of condolences just after the disaster, which included the dispatch of a rescue team of 12 members and 6 dogs.
