Acceptance of Relief Supplies from the Republic of Uzbekistan

- On Tuesday, March 22, a special aircraft of the Republic of Uzbekistan, carrying relief supplies (2,000 boots, 200 tents, and 2,000 blankets) in response to the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake, arrived at Narita International Airport. On Wednesday, March 23, tents and blankets were delivered to Fukushima prefecture, on Thursday, March 24, boots were delivered to Miyagi prefecture.
- From the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Islam Karimov, President, had sent out a message to Prime Minister Naoto Kan, expressing his condolences and offering to provide necessary assistance to the people of Japan. Message of condolences have also been sent from H.E. Mr. Elyor GANIYEV, Deputy Prime-Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs, to Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeaki Matsumoto. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
