Donation from Sri Lanka

- The Government of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka offered a donation of one million US dollars (approximately 80 million Yen) regarding the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake. The donation will be made to Japanese Red Cross Society to support those affected by the earthquake.
- From Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, President sent a letter of sympathy and condolences to His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Hon. Prof. G. L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs and many Cabinet Ministers also sent messages of sympathy and condolences. President Rajapaksa and External Affairs Minister Peiris visited the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka and signed condolence book on Friday, March 18. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation by the Government of Sri Lanka.
