Acceptance of a rescue team of Russia

- In response to Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake, the Government of Russia offered to dispatch a rescue team, which arrived at Narita Airport this afternoon on an aircraft of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Dlimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters. The rescue team consists of 50 personnel, and 25 additional personnel will be dispatched later. The team is scheduled to work in Sendai and the surrounding area.
- From the Government of Russia, messages of condolences and sympathy and offer of necessary assistance were promptly expressed from President Dmitrii Anatolievich Medvedev to Prime Minister Naoto Kan. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation of the Government of Russia.
