Acceptance of USAID rescue teams including rescue dogs

- In response to the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake, 2 rescue teams (72 personnel each) of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) including rescue dogs, and others, are scheduled to arrive at Misawa Airport this morning.
- The rescue teams' areas of activity and their arrival therein are being finalized.
- From the Government of the United States, we have received messages from President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to express condolences and sympathy, and that the Government and the people of the United States would extend their utmost cooperation. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation of the Government of the United States.
