Statement by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan on the Intrusion into and Acts of Vandalism at the British Embassy by Demonstrators in Iran

- Japan expresses its regret at the intrusion into the British Embassy premises and acts of vandalism by some of the demonstrators during a demonstration against the British Embassy in Iran on Tuesday, November 29.
- Japan emphasizes that, as the receiving state, Iran has a special duty under international law to protect the premises of foreign diplomatic missions and their members, and calls on the Government of Iran to deal with the issue and to make efforts to prevent a recurrence.
- Japan intends to take all possible measures to ensure the safety of the Japanese nationals overseas.
