The 7th Japan-China Human Rights Dialogue

- The 7th Japan-China Human Rights Dialogue was held on Thursday, November 24 in Tokyo.
- This dialogue was launched as a result of the Japan-China foreign ministerial meeting held in March 1997, where both sides agreed to start the Japan-China Human Rights Dialogue. This is the 7th dialogue, followed by last one which was held in July 2010 in Beijing.
- Heads of delegations are as follows:
・The Japanese side:
Mr. MIYAJIMA Akio,
Ambassador in charge of UN affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan;
・The Chinese side:
Ms. QI Xiaoxia,
Special Representative on Human Rights, and Deputy Director-general, Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’ Republic of China. - At the dialogue, both sides exchanged views concerning domestic human rights policy and practice of respective countries, and the cooperation in the area of human rights at the United Nations.
- Both sides agreed to arrange for holding the next dialogue hosted by China at an appropriate time.
