Emergency Grant Aid for the Flood Disaster in the Kingdom of Thailand

  1. On Tuesday, November 1, the Government of Japan decided to provide the aid worth up to 1 billion JPY in order to support the victims of the floods in Thailand and for the recovery from the flood damage.

  2. As a result of torrential rain since late July, Thailand has suffered flooding and its immense damage in many areas, centering on its northern and central regions. Currently large amount of river water are reaching the capital city of Bangkok, and flood damage is seen also in some parts of the city.

  3. Japan decided to provide this emergency grant aid in light of the amicable relationship with Thailand, and in order to relieve its flood damage. The Government of Japan will continue to actively consider further support for Thailand in response to its needs.
