Emergency Assistance to the heavy rain disaster in the Republic of Nicaragua

- On Thursday, October 27, the Government of Japan decided to provide emergency relief goods (Generator, Water Purifier, etc.) worth 8 million JPY to the Republic of Nicaragua, which is suffering heavy rain disaster, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), upon the request by the Government of Nicaragua, from a humanitarian point of view for people affected by the disaster and in light of the friendly relations between the two nations.
- In Nicaragua, heavy rain continued since the first half of October and caused floods and landslides. As of October 24, the number of victims has amounted to more than 130,000, including the death of 16 people and damage has occurred to bridges, roads, houses and other infrastructures.
