- On January 19th, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai decided to postpone the opening of the new Lower House of Afghanistan for a month at the request of the Special Court, which was established to inspect some fraudulent cases in the Lower House Election last September.
- It is Japan’s hope that the Lower House will convene as soon as possible and that progress will be made in the reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
