Statement by Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the decision of Israel regarding the easing of the blockade on the Gaza Strip

- The Government of Japan welcomes the release of the list by the Israeli Government on the entry of civilian goods into the Gaza Strip. Japan hopes that based on this decision, the inflow of goods will be fully and promptly implemented for the improvement of the social and living conditions in the Gaza Strip. Japan will pay close attention to any developments.
- Japan has repeatedly urged Israel to allow the inflow of goods and materials in the context of Japan’s assistance for the Gaza Strip. Japan sincerely hopes that this announcement will lead to the prompt resumption of Japanese projects. Japan will consult with parties concerned, including Israel, on this issue.
