Japan-Australia Joint Foreign Ministers’ Statement on the 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)

On June 2(Wed), Mr. Katsuya Okada, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, together with Mr. Stephen Smith, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, released a joint statement welcoming the successful 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) held from May 3 to May 28, and the unanimous adoption of a comprehensive and forward-looking final document. The joint statement also expresses the determination of Japan and Australia to continue to maintain this forward-looking momentum and further build on the success of the NPT Review Conference.
