Revision of Infections Disease Risk Advisory Influenza A (H1N1) and Relaxation of Visa Measures for the United Mexican States

- On May 22 (Fri), the infectious disease risk advisory and visa measures
regarding the United Mexican States have been revised and relaxed as outlined
below. These determinations were made in consideration of such as the worldwide
spread situation of pandemic influenza, understanding of the virus’s toxicity,
the current situation of pandemic influenza and medical service in Mexico.
- On April 28 (Tues), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an infectious
disease risk advisory encouraging Japanese to defer non-essential travel
to Mexico and encouraging Japanese residing in Mexico to leave from the
country at earliest convenience. On May 22, this advisory has been revised
to merge with the one for other countries where the pandemic influenza has
been observed, advising Japanese travelers and residents in Mexico to stay
alert.
- Visa exemption measure for Mexico, which was temporarily suspended from April 28, was resumed as of May 22.
