June 15, 2008

15 (Japan time) that Mr. Satoshi Nakamura, who was kidnapped in Iran in
last October, was released. I extend my heartfelt congratulation to
Mr. Nakamura, his family and all others concerned.
- On this occasion, the Government of Japan strongly condemns kidnapping
as a contemptible criminal act.
- The Government of Japan has closely cooperated with the Government of Iran with a view to securing the safety of the victim and prompt settlement of the case. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all concerned in the Government of Iran for their strenuous efforts for the safe release of Mr. Nakamura.
