Visit to Japan by R.O.K. Junior High School Students under the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS Programme)

  1. From May 20 (Tue) to 26 (Mon), 100 junior high school students of the Republic of Korea will visit Japan under the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS Programme).  On the 20th (Tue), they will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo.  From the 21st (Wed), they will visit cultural and economic facilities in Tokyo and on the 23rd (Fri) a junior high school in Chiba Prefecture to deepen exchange with Japanese students through participating in classes and other activities.
     
  2. In this fiscal year, as part of the JENESYS Programme, about 1,200 junior high and high school students, university students and teachers of the R.O.K. will be invited to Japan on a short-term basis and about 200 university students on a long-term basis.
     
  3. It is hoped that through this programme, young people of Japan and the R.O.K. will deepen and strengthen mutual understanding and trust, leading to future-oriented Japan-R.O.K. relations.
