Mr. Branislav Kapetanovic, Spokesperson of the Cluster Munition Coalition, Paid Courtesy Call on Mr. Hitoshi Kimura, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs

  1. On April 14 (Mon), Mr. Hitoshi Kimura, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Branislav Kapetanovic, Spokesperson of the Cluster Munition Coalition (NGO Network) for about 30 minutes from 17:00.
     
  2. Mr. Kapetanovic asked the Government of Japan for cooperation to reach an international agreement in the Dublin Conference to be held in May to restrict cluster munitions.
     
  3. Mr. Kimura expressed respect for Mr. Kapetanovic's activities to broaden understanding of the cluster munitions issue, and stated that the Government of Japan would cooperate for removing unexploded ordnance in the countries affected, and would make efforts to create an effective international agreement.
