Signing of the Agreement between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for an Economic Partnership

- On December 24 (Wed), the Government of Japan decided at its Cabinet
Meeting to sign the Agreement between Japan and the Socialist Republic of
Viet Nam for an Economic Partnership (“Japan-Viet Nam Economic Partnership
Agreement”).
- Based on this decision, Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign
Affairs, will sign this Agreement, its Implementing Agreement and Joint
Statement with Mr. Vu Huy Hoang, Minister for Industry and Trade of Viet
Nam, after the meeting to be held on December 25 in Tokyo.
- It is expected that this Agreement will promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade between the two countries and that the economies of the two countries will be further vitalized toward a strategic partnership through the establishment of a reciprocal economic partnership in wide-ranging fields.
