Working Level Meeting concerning the Issue of the Remains of Former Military Personnel from the Korean Peninsula

  1. A Working Level Meeting concerning the Issue of the Remains of Former Military Personnel from the Korean Peninsula was held on April 18 (Wed) in Tokyo (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
  2. The Meeting was attended on the Japanese side by those concerned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; and on the ROK side by those concerned from the “Truth Commission on Forced Mobilization under the Japanese Imperialism” and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tokyo.
  3. At the Meeting, meaningful discussions were held among working-level officials on various matters concerning the return to Korea of the remains of military personnel from the Korean Peninsula, which are still kept in the care of Yutenji Temple.
