Signing of Protocol Amending the Agreement between Japan and the Republic of Singapore for a New-Age Economic Partnership

1. On March 16 (Fri), the Government of Japan decided at its Cabinet meeting to sign the “Protocol Amending the Agreement between Japan and the Republic of Singapore for a New-Age Economic Partnership” (hereinafter the “Protocol Amending Japan-Singapore EPA.”)
2. Following this Cabinet Decision, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will sign the Protocol Amending Japan-Singapore EPA with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Japan-Singapore Summit Meeting to be held on March 19 in Tokyo.
3. By the conclusion of the Protocol Amending Japan-Singapore EPA, it is expected that the liberalization and facilitation of trade in goods and services between the two countries will be further promoted and the economies of both countries will be further invigorated.
