Preparatory Meeting for Negotiations on the Japan-Switzerland Economic Partnership Agreement

1. The Preparatory Meeting for Negotiations on the Japan-Switzerland Economic Partnership Agreement was held on March 13 (Tue) in Tokyo, Japan.
2. Participants in the Preparatory Meeting were Mr. Jun Yokota, Ambassador for International Trade and Economic Affairs (Chief Negotiator of the Japanese side), and officials from other relevant ministries of Japan and Mr. Luzius Wasescha, Ambassador for Trade Agreements from State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Chief Negotiator of the Swiss side) and other officials of Switzerland.
3. The framework and schedule of the negotiations were discussed in the Meeting with the view to smooth start of the negotiations.
