Public Relations on the Abduction Issue (the Documentary "Abduction: The Megumi Yokota Story" shown in Davos)

- In the evening of January 25 (Thu), a documentary movie "Abduction: The Megumi Yokota Story" was shown at a hotel in Davos, Switzerland. About 80 people including world-renowned intellectuals and journalists from Japan, the U.S. and European countries who were taking part in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum attended the event.
- A number of influential politicians, businessmen, scholars and journalists are taking part in the World Economic Forum, which is being held from January 24 (Wed) through 28 (Sun) in the city. This event, co-sponsored by the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Geneva and Safari Media, a U.S. company that produced the documentary, was organized with an aim to call for understanding of the participants on the abduction issue as well as their cooperation for its resolution.
