June 1, 2006
Japanese
- Japan supports the proposal of the United States that it will come to the table with the EU 3 countries and meet with the Iranian representatives, as soon as Iran fully and verifiably suspends its enrichment and reprocessing activities.
- Since it is essential for the international society as a whole to address the Iranian nuclear issue in a resolute manner, Japan is determined to continue playing a fair role in close consultation with the parties concerned.
- Japan reiterates its strong expectation that Iran will appropriately respond to this issue for its peaceful and diplomatic solution.
