Emergency Grant Aid to the Republic of Honduras for Torrential Rain Disaster Caused by Tropical Depression "Gamma"

- On November 25 (Fri), the Government of Japan decided to extend emergency assistance in kind (blankets, sleeping mats, water tanks, plastic jelly cans and generators) of worth approximately 11,000,000 yen to the Republic of Honduras, which suffered torrential rainfall caused by tropical depression "Gamma."
- In the Republic of Honduras, tropical depression "Gamma" caused torrential rains in six departments in the north, which triggered natural disasters such as overflowing rivers, flooding and landslides. They left 32 people dead and 30,223 afflicted as of November 21.
Currently, the afflicted people are forced to live under difficult conditions in wide-ranging areas, and the Government of Honduras has requested emergency assistance from the Government of Japan, while making its own relief efforts.
- In light of the need to provide humanitarian assistance for the disaster-afflicted and in view of the friendly relations between Japan and Honduras, Japan has decided to extend this emergency aid.
