May 29, 2004

  1. It is deeply regrettable that Pakistan conducted a ballistic missile test on May 29, despite efforts by the international community for the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.

  2. The Japanese government hopes that the test will not bring about a negative effect on the positive developments between India and Pakistan towards improving their relations and further calls on Pakistan to respond sincerely to the efforts by the international community for the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.
