Prime Minister Koizumi and Foreign Minister Machimura Send Messages to the Leaders of the Countries Hit by the Tsunami caused by the Large-scale Earthquake off the Coast of Sumatra, Indonesia

- On December 28 (Tue), Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi sent messages of sympathy to President Mwai Kibaki of the Republic of Kenya, President Benjamin William Mkapa of the United Republic of Tanzania, and President James Alix Michel of the Republic of Seychelles for the disasters caused by the tsunami after the large-scale earthquake off the coast of Sumatra (Republic of Indonesia), expressing heartfelt condolences for lost lives and praying for a speedy alleviation and restoration from the disasters.
- Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobutaka Machimura sent similar messages to his counterparts of these countries.
