Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors' Adoption of the Resolution concerning the Nuclear Issues of Iran

- The Government of Japan welcomes the adoption of the resolution concerning the nuclear issues of Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors at its September Meeting on September 12 (Fri) (local time) in Vienna.
- Japan co-sponsored this resolution, since Japan is greatly concerned about the nuclear issues of Iran and believes that it is important to urge Iran to rectify the matter by the end of October this year at the latest.
- The Government of Japan strongly hopes that Iran will take this resolution seriously and take all requested measures immediately.
