Assistance for Reproductive Health in Eritrea through the Trust Fund for Human Security

- On September 5, the Government of Japan and the United Nations (UN) decided to extend assistance of a total of 988,097 US dollars through the Trust Fund for Human Security to the project "Mobilizing Communities to Reduce Reproductive Health Morbidity and Mortality" to be implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
- This project aims to improve the quality of life and security of war-and-drought affected people in Eritrea. Activities include strengthening the technical capabilities of health service providers, awareness-raising on reproductive health and rights among women, men and adolescents, and provision of equipment and supplies related to reproductive health (health in respect of sex and reproduction).
- This project is expected to strengthen community-based health service and to reduce reproductive morbidity and mortality as well as enable people to lead a healthy life based on appropriate knowledge.
