Assistance for HIV/AIDS Prevention in Viet Nam

- On August 15 (Fri), the Government of Japan and the United Nations (UN) decided to extend assistance of a total of 980,309 US dollars through the Trust Fund for Human Security to the project "Health Living and Life Skills Education for HIV Prevention in Viet Nam" to be implemented by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
- The purpose of this project is to enable children and adolescents to live healthy and productive lives through HIV prevention and acquiring healthy living knowledge and skills in Viet Nam where HIV/AIDS infections are increasing among children and youth. Activities include education on life skills including prevention of drug abuse and sexually transmitting infections among in-school and out-of-school children and adolescents, strengthening school-family-community partnerships thorough workshops, promoting child partnership and participation through awareness raising in school.
- This project is expected to enhance knowledge on health among youth and effectively address HIV prevention through partnership between school and community.
