  1. The Government of Japan welcomes that in the speech delivered in the parliament of India on May 2, Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced Indian government's decision to appoint a new Ambassador to Pakistan and to restore the civil aviation links between India and Pakistan.

  2. The Government of Japan hopes that this positive announcement will contribute to further promotion of the relations between India and Pakistan.
