Assistance for the "Project to Support Institutional Management System for the Judiciary of Ghana" by the Japanese Human Resources Development Fund in the UNDP

- On October 21 (Mon), the Government of Japan decided to extend
assistance
of 417,000 dollars for the "Project to Support Institutional Management
System for the Judiciary of Ghana" of the United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP), through Japanese Human Resources Development Fund, which
Japan established within the UNDP in 1986.
- This UNDP project aims at building up the capability of the judicial
system of Ghana, including the qualitative improvement of judicial
services
and the speeding up of judicial proceedings. The assistance will mainly
consist of cooperation in human resources development such as the dispatch
of experts to the judicial authorities of Ghana, training judicial staff,
monitoring and evaluating, and holding workshops.
- The Government of Ghana, under the slogan of "Positive Change", is making efforts to achieve "good governance", including the eradication of injustice and corruption; the implementation of this project is expected to effectively promote Ghana's endeavor.
