Exchange of Opinions with one of the Afghan Factions

- On January 22 (Fri.), the Government of Japan will exchange views with two members of the Taliban, one of the political factions in Afghanistan, who are now visiting Japan.
- At this exchange of views, Japan will urge a cease-fire and a resumption of the dialogue toward national reconciliation. Japan will also listen to the Taliban's views on the current situation in Afghanistan and on the future prospects for a solution to the Afghan issue.
- One of these Taliban members is visiting Japan from January 17 (Sun.) to 26 (Tue.), and the other from January 17 (Sun.) to February 1 (Mon.).
