Statement by Foreign Minister Masahiko Koumura on the G7 Leader's Statement
October 30, 1998
- The current problems of the world economy are extremely important for Japan's diplomacy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been dealing with them through close cooperation within the government.
- It is most timely that a G7 leaders' statement and a declaration of the G7 finance ministers and central bank governors were issued today.
I sincerely hope that the statement and declaration will contribute to an improvement of the world economic situation.
- As the diplomatic authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall continue to perform its role fully on this issue.
