His Excellency the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Dr. Jorge Luis Batlle and Mrs. Mercedez Menafra visited Japan on an official working visit from 15 - 19 April, 2001.
The Government of Japan heartily welcomed the visit of H.E. the President and Mrs. Menafra as an opportunity to deepen the existing friendship between Japan and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.
