Visit to Japan of His Excellency Dr. Gustavo Noboa Bejarano, President of the Republic of Ecuador

His Excellency Dr. Gustavo Noboa Bejarano, President of the Republic of Ecuador, and Mrs. Noboa, accompanied by a suite, paid a visit to Japan at the invitation of the Government of Japan from March 27 to 30, 2002.
During his stay in Japan, the President and Mrs. Noboa made a State Call on Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan as well as Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Hitachi.
The President also held a meeting with Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan and other prominent members of the politics and business circles.
This marks the second visit to Japan of the President of Ecuador after eight years of absence, and is expected to further strengthen the relations existing between Japan and the Republic of Ecuador.
