President of Tajikistan's VisitVisit to Japan by His Excellency Emomali Rahmonov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan

May 2001

   His Excellency Emomali Rahmonov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, accompanied by a suite, visited Japan at the invitation of the Government of Japan from 14 to 18 May 2001.
   During his stay in Japan, President Rahmonov made a state call on His Majesty The Emperor of Japan.
   President Rahmonov also held talks with prominent members of the Japanese government, attended the Consultative Group Meeting for Tajikistan sponsored by the World Bank, and delivered a speech at the United Nations University.
