Visit to Japan of His Excellency Mr. Ion Iliescu, President of Romania

His excellency Ion Iliescu, President of Romania, accompanied by a suite, paid an Official Working Visit to Japan from February 12 to 15, 2002.
During his stay in Japan, the President made a state call on His Majesty The Emperor of Japan. His Majesty The Emperor hosted a Court Luncheon in honor of the President. The President also held a meeting with Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan.
The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President, which will further strengthen the friendly relations existing between Japan and Romania.
