High Level Conference on Southeastern Europe
The High Level Conference on Southeastern Europe was held in Tokyo (Mita Kaigisho) on 15-16 May 2000, co-sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Institute for Research Advancement (NIRA). A total of 51 high-ranking officials and experts from 27 countries and related international organizations attended the Conference. The Conference was also attended by 20 Japanese experts and academics.
Participants discussed three steps entitled "Steps Towards the Promotion of a Harmonious Political Culture", "Steps to Redeem and Establish Human Dignity" and "Step Towards a Market Economy" to establish peace and stability in Southeastern Europe.
