Her Excellency Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines, and Mr. Arroyo, accompanied by a suite, paid a State Visit to Japan from December 2 to 5, 2002.
During their stay in Japan, the President and Mr. Arroyo made a State Call on Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.
Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress hosted a State Dinner in honor of the President and Mr. Arroyo.
The President also held a meeting with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
The Prime Minister of Japan hosted a Dinner in honor of the President and Mr. Arroyo.
The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Mr. Arroyo, which will further strengthen the friendly relations existing between Japan and the Republic of the Philippines.
