Message from H.E. Mr. Junichiro KOIZUMI, Prime Minister of Japan to H.E. Mr. Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR

Excellency,

I would like to share my joy with Your Excellency and people of the Lao PDR in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Japan and the Lao PDR.

It was the first time for me to visit your country to attend the ASEAN+3 Summit held in November last year, and it was a great honour for me to conduct useful exchange views with Your Excellency. In addition, I was very impressed by the warm welcome and hospitality by your Government and the people of the Lao PDR. It was a great pleasure for me to witness steady development of the Lao PDR which has been conserving her beautiful nature and also to come to realize that Japan had been playing a significant role in assisting the nation building of the Lao PDR.

I sincerely hope that Japan and the Lao PDR will further enhance and strengthen their close relations.
