Visit to Japan of His Excellency Mr. Teburoro Tito, Chairman of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) and President of the Republic of Kiribati

His Excellency Mr. Teburoro Tito, Chairman of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) and President of the Republic of Kiribati visited Japan from 17 to 22 February, 2001 as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His Excellency the Chairman had an audience with the Emperor as well as hold meetings with Prime Minister Mori and Foreign Minister Kono among other senior officials of the government of Japan.
H.E. the Chairman also visited Shimizu City of Shizuoka Prefecture and Hiroshima City of Hiroshima Prefecture.
The government of Japan in view of promoting the regional dialogue and cooperation as well as strengthening the dialogue between Japan and PIF, has been inviting the chairman of PIF to Japan every year.
