Her Excellency Dr. Megawati Soekarnoputri, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Taufik Kiemas, accompanied by a suite, paid a State Visit to Japan from June 22 to 25, 2003.
During their stay in Japan, the President and Mr. Taufik made a State Call on Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.
Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress hosted a State Dinner in honor of the President and Mr. Taufik.
The President also held a meeting with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
The Prime Minister of Japan hosted a Dinner in honor of the President and Mr. Taufik.
The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Mr. Taufik, which will further strengthen the friendly relations existing between Japan and the Republic of the Indonesia.
