Recent Trends
Japan has been supporting the peace process with party concerned. Japan intends to provide appropriate assistance for the regional and international endeavors for the establishment of peace and stability in the Great Lakes Region including Burundi.
In this regard, Japan decided in March 2005 to extend emergency grant assistance of about 3 million US$ for the elections in Burundi and about 3.68 million US$ for Burundian refugees.
