- From May 6 to May 8, Ms. Rose Gottemoeller, Acting U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, will visit Japan.
- During her visit, Acting Under Secretary Gottemoeller is scheduled to meet with Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Chikao Kawai and discuss disarmament and non-proliferation issues with Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department Director-General Mitsuru Kitano. In addition, she will discuss Japan-U.S. relations, East Asian affairs, and other issues with other Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense officials.
