Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobutaka Machimura holds Telephone Talks with Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan

- On March 28, 2005, Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobutaka Machimura held a telephone talk with Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan.
- Foreign Minister Machimura welcomed the recent report by the Secretary-General and conveyed that he will cooperate closely with Secretary-General Annan towards achieving United Nations and Security Council reform. Foreign Minister Machimura also extended an invitation to Secretary-General Annan to pay a visit to Japan at an appropriate time.
- Secretary-General Annan responded that he will make efforts towards the realization of Security Council reform in consultation with Member States including Japan. Secretary-General Annan indicated that he would like to pay a visit to Japan at least once a year.
