3. Priority issues

  • describes Japan's position, approach and specific actions regarding poverty reduction, sustainable growth, addressing global issues and peace-building in accordance with the ODA Charter
    • presents Japan's approach to poverty reduction which is a core issue of the MDGs
    • presents actions for sustainable growth based on the experience of development in East Asia and policies for making use of ODA to assist economic partnerships
    • demonstrates comprehensive and coherent actions for disaster prevention in view of the major earthquake occurred off the coast of Sumatra and tsunami in the Indian Ocean
    • presents Japan's approach and specific actions for peace-building


4. Measures to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of assistance

  • describes efforts to strengthen functions at the field level in order to enhance the policy-making and implementation system
    • explains specific actions for strengthening functions of ODA Task Forces, composed of Japanese embassies and the local offices of aid agencies such as JICA and JBIC
